However you felt about the season finale, you might feel the need to commiserate with fellow fans, re-watch previous episodes and otherwise mourn the fact that Game of Thrones is now over. If you're going to binge the episodes again, here's a fun themed drinking game you can try.
How does some homemade ice cream sound today? Tis the season for ice cream fever and nobody does it better than Molly Moon's. First of all, everything is homemade, and you know you can taste the difference. But there are also some incredible flavors. In addition to traditional strawberry and sweet cream (trust us, it's better than vanilla), they've got honey lavender, thin mint, Earl Grey, cookie dough, salted caramel... they even have a "yeti" flavor made with granola and pieces of chocolate!
If you've a longtime follower of Family Guy, you've probably noticed how much the show has changed over the years. This piece by Screen Rant really goes into detail about the different changes we've seen happen on the show, from the changes in Meg's personality to Stewie's evolution from matricidal maniac to generic evil genius baby.
An invasion of frogs sounds like something out of a fantasy novel, sci-fi film or a mad person's ravings, but it happens during some weather events. Right now between spring storms and frog migration patterns we're due to see a lot of frogs making their way into human areas, but having 150 tiny frogs inside your home has to be weird.
Summer is rapidly approaching, and for many people it means more time with kids--whether you're babysitting, kids are out of school for the summer or even just visiting. It's a great time to try out a bunch of new board games, and one of my favorite resources to review games, Homeschool Gameschool, has a list of games you may want to try.
Freaky news stories are always plentiful. Here are just a few recent stories...
Scientists found some incredible hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean and they are pretty incredible. I'm always amazed at what we can find in our own oceans. You have to see these pictures to believe them.
When it comes to healthy eating, every person has different needs and what works well for one won't work for another. That's fine, and whatever your dietary needs are, you can still share your favorite healthy snack and lunch ideas here! Wellness Mama starts us off with trail mix, salmon dip, lettuce wraps sliced veggies and fruit kabobs.
Australians are planning to kill two million feral cats by dropping poisoned sausages for them to eat via airplanes. This has so much wrong with it I don't even know where to begin.
Right now, my middle schooler is working on memorizing Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky," and they already want to change some of the lines to work better with the adaptation of Through the Looking Glass where Alice is the hero rather than this guy's son. While it made me laugh, it also made me think of other monumental poems that we've studied over the years.
A house that you can assemble in 8 hours? That's exactly what Amazon is promising with this DIY guest house kit! It's not a complete "small house," but it's enough for a guest or two to spend the night in comfort. For $7,000, it's considered one of the more affordable DIY mini houses on the market, and it's supposed to be able to be set up within 8 hours, making it great for short notice guests, kids who might need to move back home for a bit or other individuals who could use this home.
Dogs are always said to be so smart, recognizing 200 words, including their names, and responding to commands. I've always maintained that those facts don't negate the intelligence of cats, and in fact cats may be even smarter because they're the ones who domesticated us and not vice versa. They'd eat us if they were larger, they develop elaborate plans to steal our food and cause mayhem, and according to new research, they also know their names.
Back when we bought the whole Lord of the Rings expanded set more than a decade ago, it came with the coolest Argonath bookends. You can see some for sale here. Like this set for sale, mine have also been broken many, many times, but they've also been hot glued as many times! I'm also known to use stacks of books for bookends because why waste book space?
Like many of my friends, I've been writing, calling, tweeting and doing whatever I can to fight these draconian laws being put on women's bodies intended to overthrow Roe v. Wade and send us all back in time to put us in our place. At this point I'm running out of hope. What do we even do? I think they're going to overtun Roe.
On May 16th, NASA announced that forty-five and a half million dollars is going to be awarded to eleven companies under the terms of NextSTEP E contracts. NASA has been developing a plan for manned lunar exploration. A space station dubbed the Gateway will be placed in orbit around the Moon.
With President Trump and Vice President Pence publicly pushing for a U.S. manned landing on the Moon in the next five years, there is a lot discussion of lunar exploration in the popular press. Ultimately, the companies and nations interested in the exploring the moon want to build permanent manned bases there.
In addition to writing this weekly blog on space issues, I write a blog about nuclear issues every week day. In my nuclear blog, I have often talked about the greed and incompetence of some companies in the nuclear industry. Le Creuset is a French Company that sold nuclear components and reactor vessels made of substandard steel for decades before they were caught.
Yukiya Amano is the Director General of the Regional Cooperation Agreement for the Promotion of Nuclear Science and Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARCAL). At a conference in Varadero, Cuba, he said that in the last thirty-five years, Latin America has made significant progress in the use of nuclear techniques for development projects.
A few months ago, two “contamination events” occurred the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Eastern Washington State. The events happened while employees of CH2M Hill were working on Building 324 which is the most radioactively contaminated building at Hanford. It is near the Columbia River and only a mile away from the town of Richland.
