Are you playing Whamageddon this year? The idea is to go as long as possible without hearing Wham's "Last Christmas," but I honestly love the song--their version, anyway--and have zero interest in playing. I do love playing a bunch of 80s Christmas songs, though!
As a person who loves flavor but is trying to limit my sugar, I gotta say, living in 2019 is hard. There's temptation everywhere, and for every sugar-free alternative that is released, there are probably 500 sugary products to make you drool right behind it. Case in point: Stroopwafel Stout.
We all love to look at cat and dog videos, so why not share some favorite doggos this week? I've seen several that I absolutely fell in love with, so I thought I'd share them with my fellow animal lovers.
Did you know that monsters, ghosts and other creepy things that go bump in the night are all a common part of the winter holidays around the world? From Krampus to Black Piet, Father Whipper to goblins, trolls and other creatures, the entire moth of December is fraught with monsters. So join me in demanding... why don't we have Christmas monsters in America?
As creepy as it is to have your websites spy on you, I must admit that I do love a lot of the suggestions that Facebook has given me over the past couple of years. The latest one that I'm interested in checking out is this Churro Latte from Copper Cow Coffee, which I've never used before. It's a pour-over set of Vietnamese coffee that looks pretty good.
Have you heard that the word of the year is "they," and that the dictionary is now recognizing it as a singular pronoun? This is such exciting news, especially to someone very close to me. If you haven't already, be sure to use your pronouns on your signature and nametags so it becomes normalized.
Here at Frog Source, most of us are frog lovers. We love everything about them, whether it's how cute they are, or the different frogs in pop culture, or even frog expressions. Many of us celebrate when they're not dissected anymore and a few here might even eat them, but we all agree that they're pretty awesome.
Is there really anything else on our minds today than impeachment proceedings? (God, yes, so much, from England's election results to every scary and terrible thing, ever, and the fact that kids are still in cages while everyone's going on about the holidays, and that apparently being accused of rape isn't an impeachable offense and...) Really, though, it's on all our minds, and if he's not impeached, it's going to set a very dangerous precedent.
Move over, candles that feature scents from Krispy Kreme and Jelly Belly: Qdoba is joining your ranks! Qdoba is selling queso-scented candles for all of the cheese lovers this holiday season. It's bright orange and smells like a combo of American, Monterey and cheddar cheeses, which is what their queso consists of.
Game players, have I stumbled onto something fabulous! The Woman Cards is a deck of cards featuring all feminist icons rather than a standard deck of cards. You use them like a standard deck, but they feature beautiful artwork featuring the faces of Mary Shelley, Malala Yousafzai, Emma Gonzalez and so many more that I can't even. This is THE set of cards that needs to be in everyone's home in 2020.
Many people have moved beyond sending holiday cards, opting to just send e-cards or messages in person instead. For those who do still enjoy sending cards, choosing a local company is one of the best ways to ensure they are as sustainable and helpful as possible, and Seattle has several great greeting card companies you could choose from.
Family Guy just turned Santa into a sexual predator. At least, that's how it felt during the last episode when Meg not only had an orgasm in Santa's lap and later had sex dreams about him, but then tracked down her mall Santa only for the old man to tell her it was deliberate since Santa knows what everyone wants for Christmas. Gross. The first part of this scenario, while still really out there, wasn't nearly as bad as that final part.
While I'm a little late on sharing the holiday challenges I'm taking part in, several of them don't even start until this weekend, so there's time to participate! From December 15-21 there is A Very Merry Read-a-Thon, the Grinchathon is from Dec.
Today my teen made this adorable reindeer puppet but took it to the next level by using some brown cardstock with gold foil on it (it was all we had) for a "bling reindeer." It really is quite fabulous!
Have you heard that Mickey Hart is expanding his Mind Your Head cannabis brand? He's launching a new product called Space Ticket, a pre-roll that's infused with hash and meant to "elevate consciousness above ordinary levels in our collective exploration of the most powerful grooves on the planet."
Nothing gets me more excited than a specimen found intact, especially if it's rare. This dinosaur tail covered in feathers was discovered in amber and you need to take a look at it! I thought it was fur before I read the headline. It looks so fluffy and lovely and makes me want to see what so many creatures before us really looked like all those years ago.
Lots of people bake keto treats or go out and get a bunch of ingredients to make keto substitutions, and that's totally fine. I think if you enjoy it especially, you should do it. I like baking, but most of the time I'd rather go buy something someone else has made! But if you're craving something sweet to hit the spot RIGHT NOW, I totally feel you, and I have a few things that might help.
Have you ever seen a cat work on a clay sculpture at the wheel beside a human sculptor? Check out this video to see an eager cat take part in the creation of new art. It's so adorable I've watched it a few times! I could definitely see my cat doing this, too. They want to be involved in everything we do, and some of my cats like to lay down right in the middle of a game board while we play games, get into art supplies while we're making things and generally be a part of the fun.
When you slap someone's butt without their permission, it's sexual battery, end of story. Would you slap a man across the face just running by? No? Why not? It's high time we stopped getting grabbed, groped, fondled and slapped just for being women in public, and to do that we have to press charges against the people who do it to make them finally get the message and STOP.
