Inkblot

On New Year's Day, my family usually goes for a hike. This year it was way too cold so we opted to play the game Thinkblot instead. Have you ever played it? It's really fun.

Cooking Resolutions

Do you have a lot of cooking goals for the new year? I know we want to learn to cook more together, use our air fryer to make more low-carb meals and definitely make sure our 15-year-old is set in the ways of the kitchen before going out into the world!

Homemade Churro Ideas

I love my churros hot, chewy and dunked in melty chocolate goodness, but I know everyone likes theirs differently. Some, like my husband, prefer them flaky and crispy, more like pork skins than pastries. Others like theirs with toppings or fillings and other variations.

Teas for a New Year

Happy New Year, my fellow beverage lovers! I'd love to know what kinds of tea you're ringing in 2021 with this year.

I am still loving my sugar cookie tea from Celestial Seasonings and my STASH Christmas in Paris, but I saw that Grimoire Tea has a few tea events coming up this weekend and I'm curious about those! I love how some indie companies keep calendars so we can follow their events and find out which flavors we want.

2021 Reading Goals

We love book challenges around here, so now that it's 2021, let's start a few! One that my family and I are doing is the Celebrate a Book Challenge, which will issue new challenges and printables each month throughout the year.

I'm also aiming to read 121 (see what I did there?) books this year on Goodreads. I've got one down so far! It was Katrina Leno's You Must Not Miss, which I liked a lot. I'm reading with my Page Turners group and Halloween Book Club, which are both on Facebook, as well.

Great Medical News

After celebrating the vaccine's development, I was so disheartened to learn that there are actual wealthy "donors" paying to get doses meant for elderly people. I don't know why it even surprised me but I'm incredibly sad, outraged and down about it. So I thought we could share some good medical news.

Competitive Dog Dancing

While I consider myself a cat person, I love my dogs and my cats very much. Molly, a six-year-old lab/heeler mix, LOVES to dance with me. If I even make a loud noise, she comes running, thinking it's time to dance! It's so cute. When I heard that competitive dog dancing was a thing, I knew I had to see more!

The Best Non-Alcoholic Drinks

sarajean's picture

Whether you're trying to cut back or eliminate alcohol, or you just love fun, fruity drinks without the booze, there are so many great nonalcoholic drinks available that you almost feel compelled to try them all! If you're avoiding sugar like me, you can even find some sugar-free drinks, or make your own with sugar-free syrups and teas at home.

When The Griffins Make Absolutely No Sense

Every cartoon has moments when nothing makes sense. Sometimes it's the entire cartoon. Sometimes it's after the show combats a serious issue and takes a turn into senselessville (I'm thinking South Park, but many fit the bill!). Still, there are episodes worth noting that have even more unbelievable moments.

This list is proof that entire episodes of Family Guy don't make sense sometimes, but I can think of several others that also offend reason. How about you?

Major Changes Coming To The Global Space Industry - Part 1 of 2 Part

There has been a lot of coverage in the global media about the return of the Japanese Hayabusa-2 asteroid mission with samples from the surface of an asteroid. SpaceX has also gotten a lot of press as has the China Chang’e 5 Moon landing. Behind all this publicity however, there are major changes coming to the global space industry.
