As may be readily apparent from reading this blog, I am not a fan of commercial nuclear power based on fission. There are too many serious problems including radioactive waste disposal, ageing reactors, failure to follow regulations, nuclear weapons proliferation, etc.
The Foreign Ministry of Russia is inviting international nuclear experts from other nations that border the Arctic Ocean to attend a conference in June of 2022 to discuss how best to recover the sunken radioactive and hazardous objects that were dumped by the Soviet Union on the floor of the Kara and Barents Seas east of Novaya Zemlya.
When I think of summer, I picture a nice, frosty orange julius to help me cool off. It's too bad that every local place I used to get them at doesn't sell them anymore! It's fine, I'll start making my own! Speaking of that, there are so many other icy, yummy drinks you can make at home, too.
Who ever said all cats hate water? I've had some who love it! What about cats always landing on their feet? That's a dangerous myth to spread around, if you ask me. It might tempt kids to challenge it and really hurt a cat. Cat myths are way too plentiful, if you ask me, and some are downright silly.
Oh, Saga. I won't give spoilers but as much as I want to re-read it this summer, I may have to pass. I don't think my heart can handle it. Brian K. Vaughan is even promising it will be "worth the wait," which makes me even more nervous about it returning "soon" after a three-year hiatus. Has it really been that long?
Like many families, mine is still being cautious even as we finish, or have finished, our vaccine boosters. My teen loves art and while I'd love to find some great in-person camps, I am still wary and looking for some online options, too. I know I'm not alone when I say this pandemic really threw all of our teen rearing plans for a loop!
If your favorite thing about summer is a fridge full of fresh fruit, you are my kind of person! Boy do I love fresh produce in the summertime, and I'll add it all to my drinks throughout the hot months. Choosing a favorite is nearly impossible.
There are a variety of nuclear fuels currently being used in commercial nuclear power reactors. The most common is enriched uranium but unenriched uranium and mixtures of plutonium and uranium are also used for fuel.
